Lions Season Comes to a Close

The Lions season came to a close as they lost the NJCAA Region 20 Championship game against Prince Georges Community College Lakers 74-66. 

 

The game lived up to a championship bout, as there were 8 lead changes and 8 ties in the contest. Neither team could break away in the first half as the Lions headed into the locker room up 31-27. 

The Lions were up 45-42 with 8:35 remaining. With 4:19 to go the Fighting Owls were up 54-45. The 12 point run turned the game on its head. The Lions could not close the gap after that.

45 free throws for the Fighting Owls and only 20 for the Lions was a major difference in the contest.

 

Victor Ezeh led the Lions in scoring and rebounds with 17 and 8

Alex Obase also had 8 rebounds to go with his 6 points

Tyler Baldwin came off the bench to score 16 and lead the Lions with 4 assists

 

Victor Ezeh and Tyler Baldwin received team of the tournament honors
