Advance to Semifinals

Your CCBC Dundalk Lions advance to the semifinals after defeating the Garret College Lakers 86-59. There was a much different tone to this game than the Sophomore night game just 4 days early in which the Lions won 66-57.

The Lions shot a stunning 51.5%, 35 for 68 and forced 24 turnovers. 

The Lions started out slow, falling behind 9-3. A three pointer from Nas'Zaire Simmons broke the tie to give the Lions a 21-18 lead. This was the start of a 18-4 run in which the Lions closed out the half 36-22 off of an iso buzzer beater from Walta Berhane.

The Lions kept their foot on the gas as they scored 50 points in the second half. The lead got up to 30 when Berhane fed Cristian Viafara for a dunk, 78-48. The Lions would go on to win 86-59.

4 Lions scored in double digits while 3 others shot perfect from the field. Just complete team basketball.

Walta Berhane was the leading scorer with 16 off the bench

Alex Obase was the leader in rebounds with 6, shot 3-3, had 3 steals, a block and an assist

Tyler Baldwin led the Lions with 6 assists off the bench while scoring 10

Victor Ezeh Scored 15 had 6 steals and 5 rebounds

Richard Hall, Jr. filled the stat sheet with 2 points, 2 steals, 2 blocks, 2 assists and 5 rebounds

 

The Lions will play in the semi-finals game on Friday, March 6th at 5pm versus WVU Potamac State at Chesapeake College: 1000 College Cir, Wye Mills, MD 21679 The game will be streamed on Chesapeake's hudl: https://fan.hudl.com/usa/md/wye-mills/organization/174188/chesapeake-college/team/828039/mens-varsity-basketball/video

and the championship round will be the next day, Saturday, March 7th also at Chesapeake College
