Dundalk Defeats #6 Monroe CC
Day two of the Cecil Holiday Classic your CCBC Dundalk Lions took on the #6 Monroe Community College Tribunes 69-63. This is the third ranked team the Lions have defeated this season. The Lions received some votes themselves earlier in November when they were 6-2, now 10-4. Through 14 games the Lions are allowing opponents to just an average of 64.6 points per game.
The Tribunes owned the first ten minutes of the contest leading 18-5. The Lions would go on a 17-3 run to take a 22-21 lead with 4 minutes remaining. The Lions would finish the half down one 29-28.
In the second half neither team could amass a substantial lead for the first 12 minutes. Monroe was able to get out to a six point lead, 54-48 but Nas'Zaire Simmons was able to hit a three and half the lead. Simmons would hit another 3 to tie the game at 59-59. The Lions would get three stops and go up 64-59. The Lions were able to hold this lead for the remaining two and half minutes before winning 69-63.
Victor Ezeh led the Lions in almost every statistical category with 24 points, 5 assists, 4 blocks, 3 steals and also grabbed 3 rebounds.
Alex Obase was the leader in rebounds with 8. He also scored 6, recorded 2 steals and a block.
Tyler Baldwin came off the bench to score 11 points and had 3 rebounds.
