Your CCBC Dundalk Lions finish the season 23-5 and 11-2 after defeating the Garret College Lakers 66-57. This win solidified the Lions as the best regular season team in Region 20 and locking them in as the 1 seed in playoffs.

 

Victor Ezeh started out on fire scoring 11 of the Lions opening 12 points. 3 Threes and a layup in which Walta Berhane assisted 3 of the 4 shots. This put the Lions up 12-6, 5 minutes into the contest.

With 5 minutes remaining in the 1st half the Lions doubled up the Lakers 32-16 for their largest lead of the game. The Lakers closed the gap as it was 36-29 at halftime.

The Lions jumped out to a quick 41-31 lead. The first 10 minutes of the second half the gap stayed around that 10 point lead. An 8-0 run by the Lakers took a 51-39 to 51-47. With two minutes remaining the lead stayed at 4, 57-53. Alex Obase came up big making a layup to make it 59-53. The Lakers elected foul the rest of the way and the Lions closed it out 66-57.

 

Victor Ezeh led the Lions with 27 points and 3 assists while also having 6 rebounds and 4 steals

Alex Obase had 9 points, a leading 10 rebounds and 2 blocks

Nas'Zaire Simmons came off the bench and put up 10 points, 3 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 steals


Since the Lions are the 1st seed, we will be hosting the 8th seed Garrett College Lakers just four days later on Tuesday, March 2nd at 7:00 pm for the first round of playoffs. The semi-finals (Friday, March 6th) and championship round (Saturday, March 7th) will be hosted at Chesapeake College: 1000 College Cir, Wye Mills, MD 21679.
