MLK Classic Recap

The Lions return from the Monroe College MLK Classic 0-2 on the trip. Losing to Monroe College 72-58 on Saturday and Erie Community College 79-69 on Sunday.

The Lions started this game on the right foot leading 7-0 with 16 minutes left to go in the half. The offense just could not get going the Mustangs would go on to outscore the Lions 22-3 to give them a 22-10 lead. The Lions went nearly 18 minutes only scoring from free throws until Amear Johnson made two shots with under a minute to go but the Lions went into halftime down 34-20. The Lions cut the lead to 10 but that was as close as they could get it before losing 72-58.

Jayson Mouzon led the team scoring 12. Murray Grant and Jaylen Amoruso both had 7 rebounds each scoring 9 and 11 points respectively. Jordan Foster led the team with 3 assists.

The Lions took a 4-3 lead but sadly that was the only lead that they would have against the Kats. The lead was cut to 4 going into the half 34-30. The Lions struggled coming out of halftime, scoring their first basket with a little over 16 minutes left to play now down 47-32. The game finished with a final score of 79-69 Lions loss.

Jordan Foster led the team with 21 points. Murray Grant led the team in rebounds and assists with 11 and 3 to go with his 10 points.
