DUNDALK, MD -- The Lions fell to Maryland JUCO Athletic Conference foe Harford Fighting Owls 71-56 on Tuesday, in front of a home crowd at the CCBC Dundalk Wellness and Athletics Center.
Dundalk kept the score close at the break, trailing 28-27 against the conference coaches' preseason No. 1 team.
But a strong second half by the Fighting Owls, poor free throw shooting and a low-scoring bench contributed to the Lions' third consecutive loss.
One of the bright spots for the Lions was sophomore Lamarr Mitchell (Baltimore City College), who finished with a game-high 21 points.
Mitchell was 8-18 from the field (44%) and 4-8 on three pointers, while also grabbing seven rebounds.
The Lions shot just 52% (13-25) from the charity stripe and got just eight points from its bench.
Harford was not much better at the line (62%), but they out-rebounded Dundalk 66-47, which led to many second chance points for the Fighting Owls.
